Dear UNCG Community,

As a result of the winter weather that moved through the Triad on Sunday and conditions on campus, UNC Greensboro will remain in Condition 2: Suspended Operations, through 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

  • All classes, regardless of delivery method, including labs, lectures, studios, recitals, and other instructional activities, are canceled on Tuesday, Jan. 18. Check your email and announcements in Canvas for any communications from instructors. Plan to attend classes as scheduled starting Wednesday, Jan. 19.
  • Dining Services will remain operational. Check this site (Spartan Alert) for hours and details.
  • The Kaplan Center for Wellness will be closed the morning of Jan. 18. Check their website Tuesday for the possibility of afternoon hours.

Faculty & Staff Guidance under Condition 2:

  • Mandatory staff are expected to report to campus.
  • FLSA non-exempt employees who are required to report to campus will be eligible for equal time off (ETO) in accordance with the Adverse Weather Policy.
  • Non-mandatory employees should not report to campus.
  • Non-mandatory staff currently teleworking or able to telework should maintain their regular work schedule, if possible. Supervisors are encouraged to allow teleworking when feasible and may consider assigning online professional development assignments using Percipio as a remote work opportunity.
  • If teleworking is not feasible, compensatory time/annual leave/bonus leave, or leave without pay should be used. With supervisory approval, staff may have 90 days to make up missed time.
  • Details on time management and leave policies are available here.

UNC Greensboro will resume normal operations at 11:00 p.m on Tuesday, Jan. 18, unless otherwise notified.

As with any adverse weather event, please make decisions about travel based on your personal circumstances and safety. Please exercise caution when planning travel, and please make sure you continue to monitor your email and Spartan Alerts should conditions change.

Thank you and stay safe!
