Dear Campus Community,

As we continue to monitor Hurricane Florence, the substantial impact of this storm is becoming clearer. Locally at UNCG, we still anticipate very heavy rains and some significant winds. Frequent gusts and possible flooding in the Triad do present real safety issues. We urge all in our community to remain prepared and focused on safety – and to take the duration of this storm seriously.

Please continue to monitor the National Weather Service for the latest information. We will continue with our current plans as stated here.

We know many of our students have family, friends and loved ones who may be impacted by this storm. The uncertainty of these situations can cause stress and concern. If you are in need of urgent mental health resources, please contact the Counseling Center’s after-hours support by calling 336.334.5874. For emergencies, call the University Police at 336.334.4444. Employees with any concerns or questions about benefits or leave should contact Human Resources via the website or email (benefits@uncg.edu) for further information.

We will communicate further on this storm throughout the weekend, as needed.

Thank you.
