Tropical Storm Florence Update

Posted on Saturday, September 15th, 2018 by Emergency Management under Archived, Emergency Management, Police - General Information.
Update 9/15/2018 @ 9 AM

As Tropical Storm Florence continues to impact weather conditions across the region, we are continuing to manage the effects here in Greensboro. To this point we have experienced some heavy rain and gusty winds, but our campus is well prepared, and we have no significant impacts to our facilities, services and capabilities. We appreciate the cooperation, support and flexibility of our students, faculty and staff during these somewhat unpredictable days.

As previously stated, we expect to be back to normal operations by Sunday evening, and plan to be fully ready for all academic and other UNCG activities on Monday. If that situation changes we will alert you. If you are interested in conditions at UNCG, please visit our weather cam and monitoring system here. Please continue to monitor the National Weather Service for the latest information. Those interested in updates from across the UNC System should visit http://www.northcarolina.edu/florence.

We know some in our community will continue to face challenges, with family, friends and loved ones in areas more substantially impacted than ours. We are here to help you. Students needing additional guidance and support should please contact the Counseling Center’s after-hours support by calling 336.334.5874. For emergencies, call the University Police at 336.334.4444. Employees with any concerns or questions about benefits or leave should contact Human Resources via the website or email (benefits@uncg.edu) for further information.

Thank you.
