Dear UNCG Community,

We are currently monitoring a potential winter weather event that could bring freezing rain and/or snow to our region this weekend.  Most forecasts currently indicate this weather is likely to reach Greensboro on Sunday, but there is still significant uncertainty about the details (timing, type, and magnitude), as is often the case with winter weather in North Carolina.

This sort of weather, however, could make travel difficult, especially on Sunday and possibly into Monday.  We know many students are now making plans to return to campus and to our community in preparation for the upcoming semester.  We encourage you to strongly consider returning before Sunday to minimize any weather-related travel complications.  Please also pay close attention to all relevant local weather and road condition information when making your plans.

All campus facilities and services are open and operational as planned, including dining, health services, and other functions.  At this time, we are not canceling or postponing any events or activities.  We will monitor the situation closely, however, and communicate updates as needed.  We will provide an update by 5:00 p.m. on Sunday evening should the weather impact the beginning of classes and other campus operations on Monday.

Please continue to check your email and monitor our social channels and Spartan Alerts for all the latest updates.

Thank you.
