Winter Storm 2/18/2021

Posted on Wednesday, February 17th, 2021 by Zach Smith under Archived, Weather Alerts.

Based on current and forecasted campus conditions, the University will operate on Condition 2 of the adverse weather policy, beginning at midnight February 18.

Under Condition 2: Suspended Operations:

  • All classes (in-person, hybrid, and remote) on Thursday, Feb. 18 are cancelled.
  • Mandatory staff report per regular schedule. FLSA non-exempt employees who are required to report on campus will be eligible for equal time off (ETO) in accordance with the Adverse Weather Policy.
  • Non-mandatory staff currently teleworking or able to telework should maintain their normal work schedule, if possible. Supervisors are encouraged to allow teleworking when feasible.
  • Non-mandatory staff are not to report to campus. Campus buildings and offices (with the exception of the residence halls and dining hall) will be closed on Thursday.
  • If teleworking is not feasible, compensatory time/annual leave/bonus leave, or leave without pay should be used. With supervisory approval, staff may have 90 days to make up missed time.
  • Details on time management and leave policies are available here.

Employees should be prepared for adverse impacts, including loss of power, and remain in touch with their supervisors as needed. More information to help you prepare for the winter weather is available here.

We will make all operational decisions as quickly and efficiently as possible, always with the safety of the campus community in mind. Weather conditions will be re-evaluated on Thursday regarding Friday’s operations, and a campus update will be sent by Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
